This website began as a project to document the crash of RAF Marathon T.11 XA271 on 30th September 1954. However, during my research into that tragic accident, I realised that there was scant information published on the Marathon aircraft itself, and so I decided to expand the coverage and go into more detail. I've used as many primary sources as I can (National Archives, RAF Museum aircraft record cards, RAF manuals etc) to produce an accurate portrayal of the Miles (and later, Handley Page) Marathon.
