RIAT 2010 is over and done, and it was a great show, although noticeably smaller than previous years. Haydn, his friend James and I went down and only spent 1 1/4 hours in the traffic jam getting in, despite arriving before 8am! Obviously, the star of the show was the F-22A Raptor which put on a fantastic display - it was amazing to see how manouevrable it is! It was also interesting to see how shiny it is when it catches the light - getting that metallic finish right is a real nightmare!
Other participants at the show were an MC-130E, MC-130H and an MC-130P, and Haydn managed to blag a trip inside the KC-10! Unfortunately, there was no Raptor in the static display, and the HH-60G (which I was particularly looking forward to) was too far back to photograph properly.
On the modelling front, the Italeri RQ-4A Global Hawk and AC-130A are now out (although somewhat more expensive at Hannants than anywhere else I've seen!).
Our next show, at Elvington, is on August 15th - so get building!
