This year's Coventry Model Show, held at the Midlands Air Museum near Baginton, was a relatively small and relaxed affair. There were a number of traders spread around the main hangar and displays were provided by a number of branches and SIGs.

The USAF SIG were in the bottom hangar this year, as the Show Organiser's policy is to move displays around from year to year. This was also the first show which did not see SIG Leader Haydn in attendance, and all the models were provided by Chris St Clair. Our display was small as we were limited to 2 single depth tables and, due to transportation limitations, we did not use display boards (unfortunately 6' boards do not fit in the back of an Audi A3!!) Nonetheless, we had a lot of interest over the day.

Thanks are due to SIG Stalwart James Maher and his wife Chris who manned the stand all day.

The weather was poor and as the day wore on worsened from a light drizzle to pouring rain and strong winds - at which point we discovered the downside to being just inside the doors!  Whilst the display did not get wet, we did!  Still, a nice day out and recommended as the museum has some interesting aircraft including an F-4C, F-101B, F-86F and F-100D and it is a great excuse to combine a model show and museum visit.

Let's hope the weather is better next year!
