Title Vipers on Guard - F-16C/Ds from the Midwest
Types Featured F-16C, F-16D

Unfortunately, Fox One did not turn out very many sheets, but the ones they did produce are gems.  This one provides markings for ten F-16C/Ds flown by units of the Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas and Ohio Air Guards between 1992 and 2004.  The airframes covered are as follows:-

  • F-16C Block 25 83-1137 from the 184th TFG, Kansas ANG during 1993.  The aircraft is in the early 3-tone camouflage of FS37375, FS36270 and FS36118.  It has the NCI intake and P&W F100 engine;
  • F-16C Block 32 86-0279 from the 184th FS, Arkansas ANG during 2003.  Two-tone camouflage of FS37270 and FS36118 with red fin flash, a large hog's head on the fin and "FS 188FW" in grey.  This is a NCI intake / P&W F100 airframe.  It is named "City of Fort Smith" and carries this on the fin;
  • F-16C Block 42 89-2019 from the 124th FS, Iowa ANG during 2003.  It has the two-tone camouflage, black tail band and a large black/red/white cobra(?)'s head on the fin, together with "132 FW" in black.  Again, this is an NCI intake / P&W F100 airframe;
  • F-16C Block 42 89-2098 from the 112th FS, Ohio ANG during 1999.  This has the early three-tone camouflage scheme and the NCI intake / P&W F100 engine combination.  It has a green fin band with "OH 180 FW" in black outlined in white;
  • F-16C Block 30 87-0222 from the 162nd FS, Ohio ANG during 2004.  It has the later two-tone camouflage scheme, MCID intake and GE F110 engine.  It has a yellow/red chequered fin bacn with a black cougar (?) and "OH AF82-222" in black outlined in white on the fin.  This airframe was named "Mystery Machine" and carried the name in red on the left hand side of the nose, with "Scooby Doo" below it;
  • F-16C Block 25 83-1222 from the 184th TFG, Kansas ANG during 1993.  It has the three-tone camouflage and the NCI intake / P&W F100 engine combination;
  • F-16D Block 25 83-1183 from the 184th TFG, Kansas ANG during 1993.  it has the three-tone camouflage and the NCI intake / P&W F100 engine combination.  The airframe is namd "Hang On Snoopy" with a "Snoopy" emblem on the nose undercarriage door;
  • F-16C Block 32 86-0252 from the 184th FS, Arkansas ANG during 2003.  It has the two-tone camouflage scheme with the NCI / P&W F100 combination.  It carries the same red band and hog head on the fin as 86-0279 but is named "City of Clarksville" and carries this on the fin;
  • F-16D Block 42 89-2179 from the 124th FS, Iowa ANG during 2003.  It is in the two-tone scheme with the NCI inlet / P& F100 engine and carries the same tail markings as 89-2019 above, bit with "AF89-179" in grey on the fin;
  • F-16D Block 42 89-2165 from the 112th FS, Ohio ANG during 1999.  It has the three-tone scheme, NCI inlet / P&W F100 engine and a greenf in band.  It has the tail code "OH AF89-165" in grey on the fin and is named "City of Toledo" with this being carried on the intake.

The sheet is beautifully printed by Cartograf.  There is one error, the Ohio markings are in 1/48th scale!  However, Fox One have picked this up and include an insert in the correct scale.

The instructions are printed in color and comprise left and right views (where needed).  There is also a second B&W sheet depicting the colour scheme layouts.
