Coinciding with the release of the 1/72 Trumpeter F-100D and the future release of the F-100F, this latest sheet from Xtradecal is really useful.  It covers the following airframes:-

  • F-100D 55-3685 from the 184th TFS, Arkansas ANG, Fort Smith during 1976.  Standard South East Asia scheme of dark green FS34079, medium green FS34102 and tan FS30219 with light grey (FS36622) undersides. Arkansas tail flash in red with large ANG patch on the fin;
  • F-100D 55-2950 from the 50th TFW, Hahn AFB, Germany during the 1960s.  Overall natural metal with blue, yellow and red fin flashes;
  • F-100F 56-3730 "The Spirit" (The Spirit of St Louis II) fro the 50th TFW, Hahn AFB, Germany during the early 1960s. Similar markings to F-100D 55-2950;

  • F-100D 55-3685 from the 148th TFS, RAF Lakenheath, 1969/70.  Standard SEA scheme with "LT" tailcode in light grey;

  • F-100D 42138 / II-YM from EC.4-11 "Jura", French Air Force based at Djibouti, Africa during 1978.  Standard SEA scheme uppersurfaces (very sun faded) with blue grey undersides

The sheet is well printed with everything in register, the decal film itself is thin and there is very little overlap of film.

The instructions are printed in color and comprise left and right views (where needed)  together with upper surface diagrams, color details and additional references.
