Decal Sheet ID 72-099
Decal Sheet Title F-15C Eifel Eagles
Types Featured F-15C

The F-15 has been around for many years, and Two Bobs have covered quite a variety of Eagle subjects over the years. Most of their subjects have tended to be US based, but this new sheet addresses this by covering a wide range of airframes from Bitburg AB between 1983 and 1993.  The majority of these are in the 2 tone Compass Ghost Grey scheme, but 2 are in the later Mod Eagle scheme to round things out.

The airframes featured are as follows:-

  • 79-0036 "Eagle 01". flown by Colonel Larry R Keith. This is the Wing Commander's aircraft and carried "36th TFW" tail markings as well as artwork on the left intake trunking. It also has a tri-colour tail flash representing the 3 squadrons within the 36th TFW.  This aircraft was painted in the Compass Ghost Grey scheme
  • 80-0021 marked for the Germany/US Tricentennial celebrations during September 1983. It has specially applied nose art, red tail flashes and was painted in the Compass Ghost Grey scheme
  • 79-0053 from the 53rd TFS during June 1983. This had "horizontal" style yellow and black tiger striped fin flashes and "53rd TFS" tail markings, again being painted in Compass greys
  • 84-0001, again from the 53rd TFS but with "vertical" tiger striped fin flashes. This aircraft is marked as it appeared during May 1993 and was painted in the Compass greys
  • 84-0009 marked as a wing aircraft, with a tri-colour fin flash and "36 FW" tail markings, again in the standard Compass Ghost Grey scheme
  • 84-0022 from the 22nd TFS with "22 TFS" tail markings and red fin flashes. Depicted during July 1993, this airframe was another in Compass greys
  • 84-0025 from the 53rd TFS during September 1992. This aircraft had two Iraqi kill markings on the fuselage and carried "vertical" style black and yellow tiger striped fin flashes
  • 79-0025 from the 525th TFS with blue fini flashes and "525 TFS BULLDOG AF790 25" tail markings. This was another aircraft in the Compass Ghost Greys
  • 84-0027 from the 53rd TFS during May 1992, with "vertical" style black and yellow tiger striped fin flashes. This was a "line" aircraft with standard tail markings but carried 2 Iraqi kill markings and was painted in the Compass Ghost greys
  • 84-0019 from the 53rd TFS during February 1991, and marked identically to 84-0027
  • 79-0048 from the 525th TFS, painted in Compass Ghost greys and with blue fin flashes and a single Iraqi kill marking
  • 84-0015 carrying red/yellow fin flashes. This aircraft was painted in the Mod Eagle scheme and carried a single Iraqi kill marking. This aircraft participated in the 1992 William Tell Meet
  • 79-0078 marked identically to 84-0015, but with two kill markings

As normal with Two Bobs, the instructions are full colour and comprise left and right views of each aircraft, together with upper and lower camouflage scheme markings and separate stencilling instructions. Four sets of stencils are provided - one with red stencils, one with yellow and two with black.

The decals are printed by Microscale and are in perfect register with very thin decal film.

This is one of those sheets that will not interest everyone, but for those with an interest in USAFE aircraft it is a must have!
