Aztec Models tend to focus on South American aircraft but this sheet has a more international theme - MiG-21F's and their variants. This sheet covers 9 different airframes, but the 2 of interest are both from the 4477th TES - the Red Eagles:-
- MiG-21F-13 '2167' bort 'Red 85' as flown by Lt. Col. Manclark. This was painted in a two tone scheme of white/light grey and black/dark grey - Atzec give the matches as FS37038 Black and FS37925 Insignia White (although Insignia White is actually quoted as FS37875); and
- MiG-21F-13 '60965' or '80965' - this aircraft was donated to the USAF by Israel follow its' capture from the Algerian Air Force during the 1967 Six Days War. This aircraft was overall natural metal and carried US stars'n'bars.
The sheet contains no stencilling, only the national and individual aircraft markings; this is not a problem as the markings carried by these aircraft appears to have been extremely limited.
The sheet is in perfect register; the instructions comprise a double-sided full-colour A4 sheet with a single side view for each aircraft (for 'Bort 85' a top view is also provided. A second photocopied A4 sheet contains additional details.
This is a nice sheet, although the subject matter is somewhat limited.
