Rocketeer's latest sheet covers all of the F-104C squadrons from the 479th TFW, including "Really George" at 3 times in its history and 7 other airframes.

The airframes featured are:-

The airbrake contains a white "X" and the fin has the large "falling star" emblem of the 479th TFW. As the Wing Commander's aircraft, the wing tank fins carried 4 colors (blue, yellow, green and red) for the 4 squadrons of the 479th. The intake bullets and nose carried multi-colored stripes;
  • 60891 FG-891 in a slightly different scheme, with the white emblem replaced with a large white "X" and the fuselage chevron replaced with a red full-fuselage lightning flash;
  • 60891 FG-891 in the same markings as above, but carrying a refuelling probe;
  • 60910 FG-910 from the 434th TFS. This aircraft carried a red shooting star logo on the fin, chevron on the fuselage, intake bullet and small logo on the nose, together with red/green/blue stripes on the fuselage and nose;
  • 60907 FG-907 from the 434th TFS, marked similarly to FG-910 but with a red panel on the nose and 3 red fuselage stripes;
  • 60908 FG-908 from the 434th TFS, marked similarly to FG-907 but without the fuselage stripes;
  • 60923 FG-923 from the 436th TFS. This carried a yellow fin emblem, intake bullet, nose chevron, nose emblem, nose panel and a yellow fuselage stripe;
  • 60902 FG-902 from the 435th TFS. This carried a green fin emblem, intake bullet, nose chevron, nose emblem and nose panel;
  • 60896 FG-896 from the 476th TFS. This carried a dark blue fin emblem, intake bullet, nose chevron, nose emblem and nose panel;
  • 60896 FG-896 from the 476th TFS, carrying a refuelling probe.

Instructions comprise left and right side views for each aircraft and 4 views showing stencilling.

The decals come on two sheets - a large one with individual unit markings, and a smaller sheet with serial numbers. All of the markings are in perfect register, although the decal film is a little thick.

I have read that the dark green should be a more metallic shade, but cannot find any references to prove or disprove this.  However, overall the sheet is beautiful and highly recommended.
